The theatre performance takes place in a car cemetery. The choice of the location can be perceived as metaphoric. Ostrovsky's poetic text, being full of folklore allusions and paganism, is examined against the realities of the 21st century. A shepherd no longer tends sheep, but keeps watch over abandoned cars, girls practice ecoprostitution, and some just have to face the music. These characters are no longer threatened by mythical powers. They dread natural disasters, which perhaps they themselves have turned into a daily routine.
